US News & World Report said, “When Ram’s designers updated the Ram 1500 for 2011, they managed to make improvements to an already-impressive truck.” And that is why they have ranked the 2011 RAM 1500 the best full-size pick up truck.
The magazine tested 8 other full-size trucks, but the RAM 1500 came out on top, receiving most of its praise for its interior comfort, class leading handling, and HEMI V8 performance.
Editors we quoted again saying, “The 2011 Ram 1500’s smooth, car-like ride, well-designed and comfortable interior and powerful V-8 engines make it a top pick in its class,” said the U.S. News editors.”
As a work truck the RAM 1500 can get the job done. When equipped with 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine the RAM 1500 has max towing capacity of 10250 lbs and max payload of 1570 lbs.
All that power does come at a price though. RAM hasn’t been able to increase the fuel economy of this truck and the 14 mpg city and 19 highway are likely going to put a dent in your wallet. But I think that’s something you can live with given the high ratings the truck is receiving.
