Dodge has put together the ultimate patrol vehicle that you definitely do not want to have chasing you! The 2013 Dodge Charger Pursuit is a police vehicle based on the Charger. Recently is set the fastest lap at the Michigan State Police’s Vehicle Evaluation Test and it is more than fast enough to put most drivers in their place.
Available in either a 5.7 liter Hemi V8 or the Pentastar 3.6 liter V6 it puts down a respective 370 and 292 horsepower. While it is largely the same as the civilian Dodge Charger, the Pursuit features several “cop-specific” goodies that make fighting crime all the more enjoyable. Inside, a column shifter makes room on the center console for police essentials between the front seats. A red interior dome light and a PA system are also unique to the Pursuit while special programming allows officers to leave the engine running and lock the doors without leaving the proximity key inside.
On the mechanical side, the Charger Pursuit gets several performance modifications. Upgraded suspension and load leveling rear components easily handle the extra weight of gear and perpetrators in the back seats. Special police-specific stability control and gear ratios make sure that officers are able to track down runners and safe while they drive at high speeds.
Long story short, you will be paying your fines if this guy catches you speeding!
