As one of the premier races in the automotive world and one of the best testing grounds for innovations in automotive design, the 24 Hours of Le Mans was a natural stage for SRT Motorsports to highlight two SRT Viper GTS-R race cars on. The endurance and efficiency race is one of the toughest in the world and it is not uncommon for race cars to drop out due to mechanical failure or crashes.
Luckily though, both SRT Vipers were able to complete all 24 hour race. The No. 53 Viper GTS-R, which was driven by Dominik Farnbacher, Marc Goossens, and Ryan Dalziel, completed 306 laps for a distance of 2,601 miles. After starting in 10th place, the No. 53 Viper advanced two positions for an 8th place finish. The No. 93 car started in 11th place and finished in 9th. This Viper, driven by Kuno Wittmer, Jonathan Bomarito, and Tommy Kendall, completed 301 laps for a total of 2,558.5 miles.
Here at Cumberland Chrysler, we love to see SRT Motorsports performing well in competitions and we feel that it reflects well on the whole of the Chrysler company.
