The Super Bee was a special edition muscle car from the late 1960s made by Dodge that has inspired designs for a number of modern vehicles, including the latest generation of Dodge Charger models. With the popularity of lightweight, high-powered sport trucks coming back Ram has put together a one-of-a-kind concept truck which they have named the Rumble Bee. Surprisingly though, this is not the first time the Chrysler Group has experimented with a muscle-car inspired sport truck. In the mid 2000s, the production Dodge Ram Rumble Bee was a popular, limited edition version of the 1500 pickup truck.
The 2013 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee concept truck was displayed at the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit this year and featured a number of upgrades and unique features. Outside a matte “Drone Yellow” paint job is accented with a gloss black Bumble Bee stripe with honeycomb detail. The regular cab, 2WD 1500 uses its light weight to its advantage and gets power from a 5.7-liter HEMI V8. Additional acceleration is gained thanks to a cold-air intake, dual mode cat-back exhaust and a 4.10 rear axle.
