For the longest time, we’ve known that the 2015 Dodge Challenger would be one of the most exciting new vehicles on the road in the New Year, and now the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration confirms that it will also be one of the safest.
NHTSA awarded the Challenger its five-star overall safety rating for its exceptional performance in the New Car Assessment Program (NCAP), determining that its 70 available safety and security features make it an ideal choice for drivers looking for a mix of excitement and confidence.
“The new Dodge Challenger coupe further demonstrates our commitment to broaden the proliferation of advanced safety technologies, such as driver-assist features,” says Scott Kunselman, Senior Vice President-Vehicle Safety and Regulatory, FCA-North America.
The 2015 Challenger pulled a five-star score in the side crash test and four-star scores in frontral crash and rollover tests. NHTSA also recommends the class-exclusive Forward Collision Warning for the utmost in safety.
Among the available safety features that make the 2015 Challenger a five-star safety rated vehicle are adaptive cruise control, Blind-spot monitoring, and Rear Cross Path detection.
