Ram recently announced that there’s going to be a Night Package for the 2017 Ram 1500. This customized look comes straight from the factory, with special features and unparalleled styling. There are also blacked-out details to accentuate the mysterious feel of the Night Package. You won’t be able to take your eyes off this new model.
The Ram 1500 Night Package is a special edition model that has some truly unique features, according to Fiat-Chrysler. The sporty look includes things like a black grille surround, special badging, customized wheels, and added personality. The monochromatic package is truly aggressive, with other unique features like a 5.7-liter HEMI, black sidewall tires, and a 4×4 system.
“Much like our incredibly successful Ram Rebel, the Ram 1500 Night fills the growing customer demand for factory-custom trucks,” said Mike Manley, head of Ram. “Truck enthusiasts want vehicles that define their personality and style. The new Ram Night package builds upon the Ram Sport – one of the best looking trucks on the road – and adds black-out details that custom truck enthusiasts revere.”
The Night Package is now available on Regular Cab, Quad Cabs, and Crew Cab 1500 Sport models. You can get two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive. There’s also an available 3.6-liter Pentastar engine in addition to the HEMI. These are just some of the options available if you check out the new Night Package.
First unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show, the new 2017 Ram Power Wagon and Ram 2500 4×4 off-road models are set to hit the market soon. These models are part of the best-selling off-road truck segment in the industry. If you want adventure, check out the new Ram models.
According to FCA, these models also recently appeared at the Overland Expo at Mormon Lake in Arizona. Drawing crowds in the thousands, the Power Wagon and 2500 4×4 were also accompanied by the best-selling Rebel model as well. Under the hood of the Power Wagon is a best-in-class 410-horsepower 6.4-liter HEMI V8 and a positive crankcase ventilation system to cool the powertrain.
“The Ram Power Wagon is an off-road, all-access pass, removing the limitations, instilling confidence and allowing owners to reach areas of recreation and lifestyle not attainable with any other pickup,” said Mike Manley, Head of Jeep and Ram at FCA Global.
The 2500 4×4 Off-road package capitalizes on the already impressive features of the standard 2500. The Off-road package includes Bilstein shock absorbers, a five-link coil rear suspension, off-road tires, an anti-spin differential, and “4×4 OFF ROAD” decals, among other things. If you love the outdoors, you won’t want to leave the driver’s seat of the Power Wagon or the 2500 4×4 Off-road.
From hauling gear to towing debris off the road to getting to hard to reach places, a Ram truck can be a major asset in a catastrophe. But sometimes it can be hard to know where to go and what exactly needs to be done. There should be an organization that helps to organize relief efforts and organize altruistic Ram truck owners.
Now there is such an organization. Ram Nation is a “grassroots volunteer corps of Ram owners and like-minded people willing and ready to come together to haul supplies, deliver equipment, clear debris, distribute food and water and even make donations that help people in their communities and around the world.”
The recent tragedy in Joplin, Missouri, caused by a massive tornado, proved to be the impetus to the creation of Ram Nation. At that time, a number of Ram truck owners showed up on their own volition, with nothing but a big heart and a capable truck.

If you watched the Kentucky Derby on May 2, then you probably noticed the new Ram advertising campaign celebrating strong women and rugged pickups. Ram was the “Official Truck Brand” of the Churchill Downs and Kentucky Derby for the 6th year in a row.
According to Chrysler, the Ram Kentucky Derby Ads featured two spots, “Courage is Already Inside” and “The Pack.” The first one is aimed at showcasing strong women who work hard to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals, women like two-time Kentucky Oaks-winning jockey Rosie Napravnik.
“True to the stand apart from the pack determination of the Ram truck brand, we wanted our Kentucky Derby advertising to once again make a difference and start a conversation,” said Olivier Francois, Chief Marketing Officer for FCA Global. “Women are emerging as leaders and influencers in traditional male-dominated fields, including horse racing. They also make up more than 11% of the truck buying market and influence an even greater number of purchases.”
“The Pack” television spot highlights the brand’s growth over the past few years, encouraging drivers to stray from the herd and stand apart. Ram owners can appreciate integrity when they see it, which is why the automaker chose these two ads to air during one of the world’s most popular sporting events.
And the Fast Lane Truck Gold Hitch Award goes to… the 2015 Ram 3500 Heavy Duty! The heavy duty truck took the coveted award after impressing judges with its power, braking, fuel efficiency, overall comfort, and handling.
What ultimately set the Ram 3500 apart from competitors was its extensive list of premium features including a more than powerful 6.7-liter Cummins turbo diesel engine, cargo view camera and air bag suspension option.
Another one of the biggest tests the trucks underwent is known as the Eisenhower Pass “Ike Gauntlet.” It’s located just outside of Denver, CO and trucks are set-up to tow a 21,600 pound trailer to elevations of 11,000 feet. And wouldn’t you know it, the Ram 3500 made it look easy!
In a recent press release, Bob Hegbloom, President and CEO of the Ram Truck Brand said, “This award from the TFLtruck recognizes Ram’s overall commitment to engineering and innovation leadership, which includes a four-pillar list of best-in-class titles; fuel economy at 29 mpg, torque at 865 lb-ft, payload at 7,390 pounds and towing at 30,000 pounds.”

After a hard-fought competition with both on- and off-road tests, Four Wheeler magazine has named the 2015 Ram Power Wagon the “Pickup Truck of the Year.”
In order to be considered for this award, a truck has to be all-new or have substantial changes from the previous model year. New for 2015 on the Ram Power Wagon is a class-exclusive 5-link rear suspension system that allows additional axle flex and traction.
“Factory-built and engineered, our Power Wagon is, by far, the most capable off-road pickup available in production,” said Bob Hegbloom, President and CEO of Ram Truck Brand — FCA US LLC, in a statement. “The Four Wheeler magazine staff is loaded with off-road expertise. We’re honored that they have again named the Ram Power Wagon with their Pickup Truck of the Year award.”
The Ram Power Wagon is built off of the Ram 2500 Heavy Duty 4×4 Crew Cab, but is specifically tailored to tackle off-road terrain. Giving the truck the power it needs is a 6.4-liter HEMI engine that boasts a best-in-class 410 horsepower and 428 lb-ft of torque.

The Chrysler Group has a good-natured word of caution to all of you out there who are rushing to by the most expensive, least efficient models on the market again now that gas prices are lower—and that word is “wait.” As the unbelievably low gas prices around the country show, in fact, the oil industry is incredibly unpredictable. You never know what will happen tomorrow.
One thing we can guarantee, though: the new Ram EcoDiesel engines will be a worthy investment, no matter what happens to gas prices. While diesel fuel is currently a bit more expensive than regular gasoline, when your full-size truck can get 29 mpg on the highway that doesn’t much matter. “The Ram 1500 EcoDiesel delivers dominant fuel efficiency across five configurations and nine trims,” said Mike Cairns, Director – Ram Truck Engineering. “The Quad Cab is a widely purchased configuration which delivers the best aero benefit of any half-ton truck.”
That 29 mpg highway mark? That’s a full twelve percent higher than any other full-size truck on the market today. Ram is so far out in front of the competition at the moment, they can’t even taste the (very efficient) dust of the new Ram EcoDiesel trucks. These new vehicles, called the Ram EcoDiesel HFE (for high fuel efficiency), will be available soon, so check back in with us at Cumberland Chrysler Center very soon!
